Introducing New Enhancements to Projects

We are excited to announce a series of updates to Projects, one of our most popular features on People Speak. These improvements are based on valuable feedback from our community, and we're confident they will enhance your experience in managing and engaging with Projects.

What's New?

1. Renaming "Summary" to "Project Overview"

To provide clearer context and better reflect the content's purpose, we've renamed the "Summary" section to "Project Overview". This change allows us to remove some duplication of titling on the page and aims to give a more streamlined experience consuming information about your project at a glance.

2. Consistent Font Styling in Project Timeline

We've updated the font style of post titles within the project timeline to ensure consistency across the site. Titles are now displayed in a font that matches the rest of People Speak, providing a cohesive look and feel as you navigate through updates.

3. Enhanced Resource File Accessibility

We're making it easier for staff to share specific file uploads directly with stakeholders. With our new feature, staff can now retrieve a unique URL for each file in the Resource section, allowing them to direct stakeholders to specific content effortlessly. To accomplish this, we've added an icon next to each file title in the Resources accordion section. A single click on this icon opens the file in a new tab, providing the URL for staff and allowing a full-screen viewing experience for site visitors that prefer consuming information in that way.

4. Customizable Timeline Item Sort Order

We've introduced a new feature that allows you to control the sort order of items in your Project timeline. This setting is customizable for each Project independently and can be accessed in the admin area within each Project's Timeline in "Timeline Items Sort Order". Whether you prefer to display the newest updates first or follow the Project chronologically, you can now tailor the timeline to suit your workflow.

Cleanup and Fixes

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving People Speak, we've also addressed a previous oversight:

Project Detail Page Commenting Status Display

The "Commenting Closed" status will no longer be prominently displayed on Projects where commenting is not available.
