Announcing Meeting Types, Non-Voting, Postponed, or Continued items, and Meeting Instructions

New Feature Update

Meeting types

You can use the People Speak Public Hearing Engagement Platform solely to bring your public hearings online or you can also use it for full packet management and online meetings. In the case of the latter, you can now delineate between meeting types, such as Regular Meeting, Study Session, Workshop, Special Meeting, Planning Session.

Non-voting

Many times you’ll have an item heard at a meeting that isn’t subject to voting but is up for public commenting. You can now toggle off voting, in which case no vote status or decision will display. Citizens will not be able to subscribe for updates. You can still have commenting even if there is no voting.

Postponed or continued item

What happens when the agenda changes or you don’t wrap something up during the original public hearing? Now you can easily move actions from one meeting to another, or if the action is being continued you can copy and move that action to a future meeting. This eliminates duplicate work while maintaining a public record of comments that were submitted at the first meeting.

Meeting instructions

With so much unpredictability and abrupt change in the recent months, there is greater need to inform citizens of new processes. Now instructional text can be added to meetings as wayfinding or new process notification.
